After keeping his legion of fans guessing over the last three years, Harris performed live in his home town. The music director will present a series of concerts as part of his world tour, titled- Harris On The Edge.
Harris’s mentor Gautham Vasudev Menon welcomed the gathering and gave the introduction speech. The whole show was packaged by director Vijay, who made it racy and there was never a dull moment. It was a
show where peppy music was well mixed with state of art technology, that gave it the extra edge.
The stage and lighting were extraordinary, truly international in design and concept. Hydraulic on stage lifts were used by some singers to make a grand entry.
The pyro effects were superb as it was done in the open air. 3D glasses were provided to the audiences who were treated to an array of special 3D effects on the giant screen which was the backdrop.
24 of the most memorable Harris Jayaraj songs were played from his various albums. The programme started with “Poopol Poopol En Nenjai Koidhaval” and ended with “Manjal Veyil Maalai Idhe”. 50% of the songs played out were from films of Harris- Gautham combo.
Harris had a brilliant technical team and orchestra backing him on the stage and he did not forget to thank them. There was a galaxy of the best known singers in the industry like Benny Dayal, Krish, Tippu,
Haricharan, Naresh Iyer, Kay Kay, Alaap Raju, Sricharan, Rahul, Harish Raghavendra, Devan, Andrea, Sunitha, Harini, Suchitra, Megha, Sharmila,Shalini and a host of others in the chorus.
Harris on the edge was brilliantly conceptualised and carried out with precision and perfect timing. Hats off to Harris Jayaraj and his director Vijay for packaging the show, that was electrifying for the
audiences at 2 hours and 20 minutes.
